Dri fm 92,2 and the morning information magazine "Mazi" in cooperation with the Municipality of Nafplion and the DOPPAT, the Directorate of B/grade Education of Argolida, the New School and the Association of Philologists of Argolida, held an informative event on "Safe use of the internet for children and parents".
The workshop was held in the hall of the Nafplio Parliamentary Hall on Sunday, 18 November, at 18:00. The keynote speaker of the event was Theofanis Kasimis, founder of Audax Cybersecurity, specialized in issues related to information security and network systems.
The event was attended by, among others, the MP of Argolida Yannis Andrianos, the Deputy Prefect of Argolida Tassos Chividopoulos, the President of the Chamber of Argolida Fotis Damoulos and the President of the Nafplion Municipal Council Panagiotis Boukouris, Vangelis Tzavelas, President of the Social Care & Sports of the municipality of Argos-Mykines, the politician Sonnia Tantarou Kringou, the Municipal Councillor of Argos-Mykines Nikos Delis and many people.
A few words about the content of the event
Children love technology and from a very young age they learn to navigate the internet, play online games and use tablets and smartphones. Recent surveys have shown that 81% of children aged 5-15 years have access to online technologies at home, 40% of children aged 3-4 years and 2/3 of children aged 5-7 years surf the internet.
Children are excited about technology. The challenge is to calm this enthusiasm and strike a balance so that the internet does not interfere with other important areas of a child's life.
